What to look for in a Languages Training Partner
Bob Robertson has over 30 years’ experience teaching languages, training language teachers and writing language courses and assessments. Whatever provider you use, we would urge you to ensure that the trainer:
· is either a native speaker or has a degree in the language you require
· has a teaching qualification so that they understand how people learn and can create an appropriate learning environment.
· has experience of teaching the specific type of student and the level of language required for the situation they will be in, for example
o business people who need to interact in meetings with colleagues or clients
o professionals who use specialised language
o families who are relocating to a foreign country
Robertson Languages provides all the above to give you the best training for what you need. Some language companies may offer one or two of the above, but this is not enough. Being able to speak a language doesn’t make you a great teacher. A trainer without qualifications or experience is clearly incompetent whether a native speaker or not. Different people learn in different ways: you need a trainer who can teach in the best way for your learning style.
We are certified to ISO 9001 and have four awards from UK Trade & Industry as the best language service provider in the UK (1994) and London & SE (three times).
